What yoga classes are you certified to teach?
I am certified in Bikram, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga.
How long have you been practicing the Original 26 & 2 Yoga?
I have been practicing the original 26 & 2 since Winter of 2010.
When did you graduate from Yoga teacher training?
2013 Bikram Yoga in Los Angeles, CA
2016 Vinyasa (200 hours) in Portland, OR
2017 Yin Yoga in Vancouver, BC
Why did you decide to become a teacher?
I had been going through a huge life and health transformation, fell in love with running marathons, lost 80 pounds, quit smoking and found yoga. After first using the yoga as a tool to train for marathons, I started to notice other effects from the yoga and began practicing more and more. Finally, I decided to become a yoga teacher because I wanted to inspire others to improve their health and well-being.
What do you like best about teaching?
I love to be able to teach a big class and hold space for my students to do their best and feel motivated, educated and challenged. Another thing I love about teaching is the energy I get from the students during class. Connecting with my students while leading them through their practice, giving small corrections and seeing the instant feedback across the room, the level of focus all the students bring collectively is so powerful and energizing.
What is your favorite yoga posture?
Triangle is my favorite yoga posture because it used to be my toughest posture but when I finally got it I look at that as a turning point in my yoga practice. Now triangle is my go-to yoga picture posture on any trip I take with my family.
